1. Data Controller
2. Server Log Files
When you visit this website, information is automatically stored in server log files. This includes: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, and date/time of the request. This data is used solely to ensure technical operation and for error analysis. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interests). Data is not combined with other data sources and is deleted once it is no longer needed for its purpose.
3. Contact Form
When you send me a message via the contact form, your name, email address, and message content are stored and processed to respond to your inquiry. Providing this data is voluntary, but without it I am unable to process your request.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or, for general inquiries, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent). Data is deleted after your inquiry has been fully resolved, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
4. Cookie-free audience measurement with Matomo
I use Matomo on a self-hosted server for technical audience measurement. Matomo sets no analytics cookies, does not read active browser features such as screen resolution or extensions, and respects the Do Not Track signal. The IP address is truncated server-side by two octets.
The data processed comprises page views, time and duration, referrer and campaign parameters, passively transmitted browser, operating-system and device details, and coarse events. Names, email addresses, messages and other form contents are not sent to Matomo. Raw data is deleted after 180 days.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is to identify usage patterns and technical problems. You may object at any time using the footer control; new page views and heartbeats stop immediately.
5. Hosting
This website is operated on own servers. Processing of server log data takes place on servers in Germany. No transfer to third countries occurs.
